Luxury watch repair

Inside high-end mechanical watches, hundreds of tiny components work together. Over time, due to various factors, these movements may start to malfunction. These factors include dust, moisture, and temperature changes. Even if the watch is left unused for a long time, natural lubricants can degrade, affecting its accuracy and functionality. Therefore, regular maintenance is crucial for maintaining the longevity and reliability of your watch.

How often should you maintain your watch?

There are no strict guidelines for how often you should maintain your watch. Brands like Rolex claim their watches can run for up to 10 years without maintenance. However, these claims are based on laboratory experiments, not actual use of the watch. In fact, you should consider servicing your mechanical watch every 3-5 years.

If it were a Quartz mechanism, you really wouldn't need a lot of service. When your watch stops working, simply bring your watch to us, and we will quickly replace the battery. We can even fully open the watch and clean it from the inside to ensure its longevity.

Signs that the watch needs maintenance

When you see this page, if repairs are needed, now is a good time to check all your watches. Just like cars, when watches need repairs, they start displaying their signs. These signs may be as follows.

Assessment and Consultation

When you bring your watch to us for repair, our watchmakers will conduct a comprehensive evaluation. We will discuss any issues or concerns you notice and address them one by one. We even put the watch on a timer to check for any time deviations. Once we have successfully evaluated the watch, we will provide you with a repair quote. For general services, we provide a detailed estimate of the required services to ensure transparency and clarity throughout the process.

Disassembly and Cleaning

First, we disassemble the watch and check each part for wear, damage, or potential issues. The movement is set aside, while the case, case back, bracelet, and clasp are placed inside an ultrasonic cleaner.

Cleaning and Lubricating the Movement

The individual parts of the movement are then processed in our advanced Elmasolvex RM watch cleaning machine. This machine passes parts through a series of different liquids, thoroughly cleaning each component. Once completed, our watchmakers carefully reassemble the parts, applying special oils and lubricants to each component during the process.

Testing and Quality Assurance

After the movement is assembled, our watchmakers place it back in the case and seal the watch. It is then tested on various tools, including a timer and winder, to verify it is working properly. The watch is checked every few hours to ensure its power reserve is functioning correctly.
